OceanBase 4.3.5 CE BP3 HF2: Stability and Performance Updates

OceanBase has rolled out version 4.3.5 CE BP3 HF2, a hotfix release dated December 8, 2025. The update focuses on resolving stability concerns in partition management, SQL execution logic, and vector search infrastructure.

Partitioning and SQL Improvements

The release introduces support for partition exchanges between List partition tables and non-partitioned tables. It also fixes a critical SQL execution error (-4016) involving GROUP BY clauses, JOIN expressions, and FUNCTION TABLE dependencies. Additionally, the team resolved a deadlock scenario where the merge process would stall due to DAG backlog when dealing with a high number of partitions.

Memory and Optimization Updates

Memory management has been tightened. The update fixes memory expansion issues when using the unnest expression on large nested arrays and optimizes JSON path memory usage. A minor merge strategy has also been refined.

Vector and Columnar Table Fixes

Users dealing with vector indexes will benefit from a fix that prevents helper table deletion failures during memory exhaustion. The team also patched a crash that occurred when querying new columns in columnar tables before a full merge.

Compatibility and External Data

The release optimizes LD_LIBRARY_PATH for external tables and fixes query errors (-4002) when using SELECT * on HDFS external tables. On ARM architectures, the cosine distance function now benefits from SIMD optimizations.
